Description
Students in UCI Law's Appellate Litigation Clinic argue real cases before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Selwyn Chu ('12) and Matthew Plunkett ('12) argued United States v. Apel before the 9th Circuit as students and won. The case was appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court and Chu served as co-counsel on the appeal after the Supreme Court granted certiorari to hear the case. The Brief for Respondent before the U.S. Supreme Court is included here. Pictured outside the courthouse for the 9th Circuit oral argument are, from left, Plunkett, Chu, Erwin Chemerinsky, and Co-Directors of the Appellate Litigation Clinic, Kathryn Davis and Peter Afrasiabi.
